ROSIN partners informed several members of the EU parliament about the state of robotics (Europe is doing very well) and about the best course of action (invest more in robotics, while keeping an eye on societal implications).
This took place at the dinner debate “Robots and Society; How to create a safe, fair and productive society using robotics?”, which was organized by Delft University of Technology, and hosted by parliament members Lieve Wierinck and Mihal Boni.
After a keynote speech by Juha Heikkilä, head of unit “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence” of DG CNECT of the European Commission, we talked to lawyers, investors, EU parliament members, industry leaders and researchers about how to “speed up the flywheel” of the European field of robotics. Our input: spread the use of high-quality software components through ROS-Industrial!
