This Focused Technical Project (FTP: LARGE_3D_INSPECTION: a package to convert a multifunctional 3D geosystem laser scanner into an accurate large surface inspection system) aims to create a useful package, able to perform the more demanding 3D structural dimensional inspection, using Leica Geosystems ScanStation series. Such scanners are widely used on industrial and construction companies due to their capabilities to scan, probe, analyze and inspect all sorts of large physical structures. The resulting work aims to adapt these devices to perform inspections of large manufactured pieces, extracting on the process internal information.
